Mostly you will find some wild or feathered species who are residing near the lake area. You usually won’t find many people roaming around the lake especially locals. These hot springs get emptied into Tanzania Red Lake Natron. The volcano mountain produces a molten mixture of sodium carbonate and calcium carbonate salts that moves via the ground and mix up in more than 20 hot springs. The Ol Doinyo Lengai plays an important role in filling this alkaline lake. The small salty pool is a natural stun to witness. The rainfall in the nearer area of the lake is the same as the whole country’s experience. The shallow lake is not very deep it is around less than three meters, however, sometimes depending on the water level it can be 3 meters deep. The main water source of the Lake is the Southern Ewaso Ng’iro River which is originated in Kenya.

During dry season, Brandt discovered, when the water recedes, the birds’ desiccated, chemically-preserved carcasses wash up along the coastline. Brandt theorizes that the highly-reflective, chemical dense waters act like a glass door, fooling birds into thinking they’re flying through empty space (not long ago, a helicopter pilot tragically fell victim to the same illusion, and his crashed aircraft was rapidly corroded by the lake’s waters).
